Area Breastfeeding Classes
Many families choose to take breastfeeding classes before baby is born. Classes are available on most days of the week and at different times of day, so call around to find one that is convenient for you.
Most hospitals offer breastfeeding classes, and can be either with a childbirth class or as a stand alone class. Neighborhood WIC offices offer free classes for enrolled mothers. Some local Lactation Consultants offer prenatal classes. When there is a fee for a class, it is usually between $15-$25 per family and sometimes can be covered by insurance. Contact for details.
WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) provides prenatal breastfeeding classes. For mothers signed up with WIC, call your office to find out more.
